Soup kitchen for the poor

Soup kitchen: a hot meal for those who need it most

Como has an important soup kitchen service, created through collaboration between volunteers from GVV Lombardia, Casa Vincenziana, and the Sisters of Charity (FdC). Every day, this place represents much more than a meal: it is a refuge of humanity, hospitality, and respect for homeless people and those in extremely fragile conditions.

The soup kitchen welcomes between 75 and 90 people every day, offering not only hot, nutritious food, but also a safe space where they can feel welcome. Thanks to the joint efforts of volunteers and partner organizations, the service is guaranteed with consistency and care, responding to the basic needs of those living on the margins of society.

The constant commitment of GVV volunteers in Como

During the month of August, when many facilities close or reduce their activities, GVV volunteers in Como take full responsibility for the service, ensuring the continuity of the soup kitchen even in the most critical periods. This demonstrates the spirit of dedication and solidarity that animates GVV Lombardia in all circumstances.

The soup kitchen is not only a welfare service, but a concrete sign of closeness and dignity for every person welcomed. It is here that, through simple gestures such as a shared meal, a network of attention and care for the most disadvantaged is built day after day.
