Wardrobe

Collection of used clothing: dressing those in need with dignity

The Wardrobe service run by Vincentian volunteer groups was created with the aim of offering practical help to those in need of clothing and household linen. Thanks to the collection of used clothing, blankets, sheets, and other items still in good condition, volunteers sort, select, and then distribute them free of charge to people in need.

This activity relies on the generosity of donors and the constant commitment of volunteers, who collect used clothing, sort it, and deliver it with care. It is a simple gesture that can restore warmth, dignity, and protection to those experiencing economic or social hardship.

A gesture of solidarity that becomes listening and relationship

The moment of delivery of the clothes is not only a practical action, but also becomes an opportunity for listening and meeting. In our Groups' Wardrobes, everyone is welcomed with respect, and volunteers take the time to listen to stories, needs, and difficulties.

Often, a request for help with an item of clothing leads to a deeper dialogue, which allows for broader support to be provided. It is in these moments that solidarity becomes genuine relationship and closeness, in the true spirit of Vincentian volunteer groups.
