The family support service promoted by GVV Lombardia is based on a concrete and constant presence alongside the most vulnerable people. Volunteers support families and individuals in difficult or vulnerable situations through home visits, creating a bond of trust and direct listening in their everyday environment.
There are numerous interventions: elderly people living alone, people with mental health issues, large families or those in financial difficulty find in the support of volunteers a discreet but present point of reference. Each visit becomes a moment of listening, sharing, and support, which often translates into a practical gesture or a simple but important friendly presence.
A path to independence and dignity
In addition to companionship, GVV Lombardia's family support translates into concrete help: accompaniment to places of care, assistance with paperwork, moral support, and—when necessary—even financial assistance.
The goal is always to help people build, step by step, a personal life plan that will lead them out of poverty or isolation. Through a process of enhancing personal resources and active reintegration into the community, volunteers promote self-advancement and a return to full social participation.
